Autocomplete file path name missing in MS Word

One feature I use often is the autocomplete file path name in MS Word.  This is very useful because it gives me a path name where I can find files.  There are other autocomplete conveniences that are handy as well.

Unfortunately, last week my autocomplete entries went blank.  They just disappeared.  Fortunately for me, someone posted the solution which is to delete the normal template file so that MS word will make a new file.  I suppose my normal.dot file got so much use it was tired out and became corrupted.  I don't really have any explanation for why the normal dot dot file gets corrupted.

Anyways, I even tried to reinstall MS Word but that did not help.  My MS Word is working now again thanks to a random blogger that was kind enough to spend the time to write about something as mundane as a normal.dot file.  I really encourage anyone out there that is thinking about posting a particular problem to blog about it so that we can help each other out with life's minor annoyances.  Life is a series of small mundane tasks that if made more efficient can really brighten up ones day.
